Important Risk and Safety Information for Gebauer’s Pain Ease® and Gebauer’s Ethyl Chloride®:

Do not spray in eyes. Over spraying may cause frostbite. Freezing may alter skin pigmentation. Use caution when using product on persons with poor circulation. The thawing process may be painful and freezing may lower resistance to infection and delay healing. If skin irritation develops, discontinue use. CAUTION: Federal law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a licensed healthcare practitioner.

Gebauer’s Pain Ease Only:

Apply only to intact oral mucous membranes. Do not use on genital mucous membranes. Consult your pediatrician when using on children 4 years old and younger.

Gebauer’s Ethyl Chloride Only:

Published clinical trial results support the use in children 3 years of age and older. Ethyl chloride is FLAMMABLE and should never be used in the presence of an open flame or electrical cautery equipment. Use in a well-ventilated area. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating or inhaling the contents can be harmful or fatal. Do not spray in eyes. Over application of the product may lead to frostbite and/or altered skin pigmentation. Cutaneous sensitization may occur, but appears to be extremely rare. CAUTION: Federal law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a licensed healthcare practitioner.

MAGNET 2018: Educate. Innovate. Celebrate.

We loved seeing so many nursing professionals at the 2018 ANCC National Magnet Conference in Denver Colorado on October 24-26, 2018. The record-breaking crowd of over 10,000 healthcare workers included nurses, unit managers, chief nursing officers, directors, educators and researchers.  The MAGNET conference brings nurses together to celebrate their MAGNET journey and improve their nursing practice with effective and proven processes.

The theme for this year’s conference was “Educate. Innovate. Celebrate”.  This theme was carried through the four education tracks:  Evidence based practice, Innovation, Leadership and Research.   The 3-day conference had something for everyone, from developing the first-time manager to the connection between health and happiness to assisting victims of human trafficking.

Healthcare workers’ number one focus are their patients. But it is important to spend some time on self-care, too. The keynote speakers honed-in on this as they helped nurses to understand the importance of resilience, positivity and humor in their personal and professional lives.  Their messages were inspirational and uplifting.

The enthusiasm of the attendees carried over from the seminars to the exhibit hall where vendors supported the nurses and their practice through recruitment efforts, the latest technology to increase efficiencies in tasks, and  comfortable clothing for the bedside nurses. Those of you that visited the Pain Ease booth were able to learn about our new cotton technique application. If you missed it, check out this video to learn more.

If you missed this year’s excitement, plan on attending the 2019 MAGNET conference October 10 -12 in Orlando, Florida.  It’s a great opportunity to meet others on the MAGNET journey, learn from the best of the best, and celebrate your profession!
